About The Royal Gems Golf And Sport Club
The Royal Gems Golf and Sports Club is located in the Nakhon Pathom area of Bangkok, about an an hour and fifteen minutes from downtown. Although it’s not all that convenient to get to from either of the airport, it does make a great detour for golfers on their way to Ayuttaya to the north of the city, which also has some great golf clubs. The Royal Gems Salaya is a private members club, so you’ll need to be accompanied by a paid up member to play. Guests at the club’s hotel are also welcome to play as guests.
Opened in 1989, the Garry Roger Baird designed course is one of only a handful of courses in Thailand that is certified for professional tournaments and has previously hosted numerous prestigious competitions. The Royal Gems Golf Club is among the very best courses in South East Asia. Playing to 7,155 yards from the blue tees, the golf course design incorporates a tranquil space of deep blue bodies of water, tree-lined and broad fairways, deep rough, extensive bunkers and large undulated greens.
The course has a great deal of imitation holes borrowed from a number of the worlds most renowned golf courses, consisting of Beth Page, Road Hole, Postage Stamp and others. Then of course there is the back 9 that is designed like the back 9 at Augusta, and whilst it might not have the exact same atmosphere as playing the genuine course, it does however, provide the layout to test yourself versus some of the most iconic holes in the game. The creatively designed golf course at The Royal Gems provides the typical golfer the possibility to play holes they have only ever seen on TV from courses all over the world, making The Royal Gems Golf and Sports Club a must for any golf player fortunate enough to get the opportunity to play the course.
