About Windsor Park & Golf Club
Windsor Park and Golf Club in Bangkok is a 36-hole layout consisting of four different nines situated to the East of Bangkok about 90 minutes from the centre of the city. A very mature golf course with lots of full-grown trees and colourful native plants and everything else you expect from a classic parkland course with tree-lined fairways, water hazards and plenty of bunkers.
Windsor Park & Golf Club is an excellent course that has hosted international tournaments, but despite this, the fees are a little more reasonable than many of the high end golf clubs in Bangkok.
The Golf Club is a masterpiece from the legendary golf course architect Ronald Fream. The beautiful parkland course is designed on sloped terrain with emphasis on accuracy rather than distance. Water is in play on almost every hole making this layout an interest strategic test which golfers of all abilities can enjoy.
Windsor Park & Golf Club continues to support both professional and amateur golf at different levels, now with an expanded course layout of 36 holes; the last nine holes opened early in 2006 pose an increased challenge to golfers somewhat different to the other established three nine holes. From the Pro Tees, any 18 holes are over 6,900 yards, the Regular Tee around 6,400 yards and Par 72 for all courses. The course is well laid out with wide fairways that lead you to ample sized greens, which then raise the challenge to your putting skills.
The Lagoon & Palm course combination stretches to just over 6900 yards of classic parkland golf, with lovely landscaping. On the A Course opening hole, tall palms line the fairway, while water makes the first of many appearances, seriously protecting the approach shot to a well-bunkered green. Quite often, the view from the tee will feature a good-width fairway, flanked by substantial bunkering on one side and vast stretch on the other.
Approach shots include water carries to island greens, sharp dog-legs, or deep greenside bunkering. Even though some of the holes run parallel to each other, the area in between holes is densely forested. The par-3 3rd hole on the B Course features solid bunkers from tee and green.
The D course is much more of an extreme challenge. This nine at Windsor Park plays around a manmade lake and requires very accurate tee and approach shots to prevent balls rolling into the water. Undulating and close cut greens enhance the challenge even more and can be very frustrating even for the best amateur golfers.

The large clubhouse which overlooks the course C 9th hole is quite old and is in need of renovation. Nevertheless, the restaurant serves excellent western breakfasts as well as the usual Thai and Asian selections and the Windsor Park staff are very friendly and attentive.
